TripleTen: The Smart Fullstack Academy Alternative

Fullstack Academy is a well-known coding bootcamp, but it’s not for everyone. Here’s why many students are opting to go with TripleTen instead.

Why aspiring tech workers choose TripleTen over Fullstack Academy.

TripleTen vs. Fullstack Academy:
How they work

The bootcamps operate with different values, and that shines through from even the very start of the whole learning experience. With Fullstack Academy, there’s an admissions process in which you may even have to pass a quiz to get in. If this sounds similar to a degree program admissions process to you, then you’re not far off; Fullstack Academy is much more academic in its approach. It tends to emulate a traditional educational setup. You show up to live lectures, engage in Q&A sessions, and wrap up your time with a capstone project. It’s a heavy hitter when it comes to providing classroom-based education in full-stack tech (think JavaScript apps, working with React, Node.js, databases).

So the bootcamp is well-named, but although it does provide good academic education, if you’re looking for something more practical, check out TripleTen. It has no restrictive application process and instead is dead-set on practical get-hired skills proven with profile-ready projects. Taught in a flexible sprint-based philosophy, TripleTen caps off each new subject by having students complete a project that emulates real-world tech work. That means by the end of the program, you’ll have bona fides in-hand to show to recruiters to prove your capabilities. In addition, through TripleTen, students have the opportunity to join externships, tech projects with real companies. So not only will you have emulated tech work as you learned new skills, you’ll have also actually done tech work to prove to hiring managers that you’re the right fit for the job.

One last thing: like with other more traditional academic institutions, Fullstack Academy doesn’t offer any sort of guarantee. TripleTen, on the other hand, is so confident about its practical, employment-focused education that it has a money-back guarantee.

TripleTen vs. Fullstack Academy:
Job placement rates

Fullstack Academy hasn’t released data since 2021, but according to the latest report available, it had a placement rate of 69%. It’d be interesting to see how the data has fared since then, but information is scarce.

TripleTen, on the other hand, released data representing outcomes from 2024. It showed that 82% of graduates landed jobs within six months of graduation. Importantly, this doesn’t mean they got any job such as salesperson or cashier. The report only counted graduates who landed jobs for which their new tech skills were relevant. Keep in mind: 80% of students came to the bootcamp with absolutely no prior experience in tech.

TripleTen vs. Fullstack Academy:
Prices in comparison

Overall, Fullstack Academy is cheaper, ranging from $6,995–$13,995. TripleTen ranges higher,  $7,050–$17,950, but you get what you pay for. As mentioned, Fullstack Academy is more academic, and while it does offer some career support (details below), TripleTen’s get-hired philosophy guides the in-depth career services that give you the interviewing skills and assets that work. Best of all, at TripleTen, these services don’t end after you graduate or after you land your first job — you can access them for life.

And just to emphasize it once more, only TripleTen offers a money-back guarantee. As one TripleTen student put it: “I would gather and learn all these hard skills, all these soft skills, I would have career coaching sessions, and then I would also have a great network of people. And if I got my money back, then it would be like free tuition. So why not?”

TripleTen vs. Fullstack Academy: Programs on offer.

TripleTen bootcamps
and duration

TripleTen has seven diverse programs that teach students practical skills in the tech that companies are using now. And learners prove they have those skills thanks to the project-based learning philosophy. By design, graduates finish with portfolios of work in-hand that attest to the fact they don’t just have the know-how, but that they also applied it. These bona-fides can then be augmented with externships, opportunities to join hands-on projects with real-life companies.

TripleTen vs. Fullstack Academy: Programs on offer.

Fullstack Academy bootcamps and duration

Interested in JavaScript? Fullstack Academy knows all about it; it’s in their name. They really do emphasize this one specific niche within the tech world, but they also offer other paths as well. Within these programs, you’ll be gaining academic tech chops in collaboration with your fellow students, and the peer groups you’ll join will help you along the way. Depending on whether you choose to study full- or part-time, duration will vary, but none of the weeks mentioned will include something as valuable as an externship.

TripleTen vs. Fullstack Academy:
Career support

Fullstack Academy does offer career support that outshines the services provided by many other bootcamps. From graduation, the bootcamp provides support for an entire year. Within that, you’ll get coaching, career lessons, feedback on your resume, and more — the services you’d expect. Fullstack Academy also leans on its network of alums as well as an employer-facing hiring portal and hiring events.

In comparison, TripleTen provides career guidance from early in the education process. Career acceleration is integrated into the learning process, and it extends beyond graduation with continuous support from industry-seasoned career coaches and placement coordinators. With TripleTen, each student benefits from personalized career search strategies built in collaboration with a career coach. So with TripleTen, you get the support you need: LinkedIn profile polishing, resume building, portfolio upgrades, cover letter assistance, and mock interviews (both behavioral and technical). And it is all built in direct connection with pros focused on getting you hired. But best of all, career support at TripleTen does not end at the one-year mark. In fact, as mentioned, you can access career support for life.
