Why aspiring techies are choosing TripleTen over General Assembly.

TripleTen vs. General Assembly:
How they work

General Assembly starts off with an application process after which you’ll be able to take a bootcamp, course, or workshop from their truly overwhelming list of options covering everything from data science to visual design. Look at their menu of offerings, and it’s kind of like perusing a menu from a restaurant that makes everything from enchiladas to filet mignon to pizza.

As for just their bootcamps, the ones on data analytics, software engineering, and user experience design run either 12 weeks if you study full-time or 32 weeks if you study part-time. Some others are currently only offered full-time (Data Science) or part-time (Information Technology). Following this, you’ll get coaching, help with the job search, and access to their alumni network.

This is as opposed to TripleTen’s seven bootcamps. They take from four to nine months to complete, during which you’ll develop up to 15 projects for your portfolio. These bona-fides prove to recruiters that you not only have the know-how, but have applied it as well. In addition, you have the opportunity to join an externship, a hands-on tech assignment with a real-life company.

And from early on in your studies, you’ll dive into career acceleration. You and a career coach will build out a personalized job search strategy, upgrade your resume and portfolio, and build your soft skills through mock interviews. The get-hired focus of TripleTen also leads into the next reason prospective career changers are choosing TripleTen.

TripleTen vs. General Assembly:
Job placement rates

As of the latest General Assembly outcomes report available (coming from 2022), their overall graduate employment rate within 180 days of program completion was 56%. That’s even considering all their career support offerings and their alumni network that can provide networking connections.

In our 2025 report (using data collected from July 2023 to June 2024), TripleTen had an overall graduate employment rate of 82% within the same time frame. So in this way, it makes sense that TripleTen still feels confident in offering a money-back guarantee while General Assembly has no such corresponding guarantee.

TripleTen vs. General Assembly:
Prices in comparison

Simply stated, TripleTen is cheaper on average. TripleTen programs cost between $7,050 and $17,950. This heavily depends on how you choose to cover the cost: paying upfront will be cheaper, and longer installments will be more expensive.

General Assembly costs more. For the sake of full representation, the range quoted in the table above included their short courses, but if we just talk about the bootcamps, only one of their five programs costs less than $16,450. Specifically, their Information Technology bootcamp costs $7,600. Naturally, they also have some price variation depending on how you choose to finance your learning, but they’re still starting off at a higher price point

TripleTen vs. General Assembly: Programs on offer.

TripleTen bootcamps
and duration

TripleTen focuses its efforts on seven programs (see below) that are dead set on teaching students the tech that companies are using now. And learners prove they have those skills thanks to the project-based learning philosophy. By design, graduates finish with portfolios of work in hand that attest to the fact they don’t just have the know-how, but that they also applied it. These bona-fides can then be augmented with externships, opportunities to join hands-on projects with real-life companies. And all of this is backed by a money-back guarantee.

TripleTen vs. General Assembly: Programs on offer.

General Assembly bootcamps and duration

To make things easier to compare, only the programs General Assembly calls “bootcamps” are included below, but as mentioned earlier, General Assembly has tons of offerings. You can take a short course just on JavaScript. Or you can study data science full-time. Or you can study information technology part-time. Or you can just take a six-hour workshop on Excel fundamentals. It’s a lot, but it’s not supported by opportunities to join real-world projects or a guarantee. Instead they rely on their reputation to carry grads to landing jobs.

TripleTen vs. General Assembly:
Career support

General Assembly has a fair bit of career support, it’s true. They offer career coaching, will help you improve your resume and LinkedIn, and host mock interviews. Because they have a wide network and are in partnership with LHH, a talent company, they also offer fairs and networking events. Beyond that, they also have a fairly sizable alumni network that grads can reach out to. However, this support is limited. A year ago as of this writing, they reduced these services to last for only three months post-graduation regardless of whether students land jobs.

This is as opposed to TripleTen. With us, you get one-on-one career coaching that covers all bases: LinkedIn profile polishing, resume building, portfolio upgrades, cover letter assistance, and mock interviews (both behavioral and technical). But there’s more, too. Not only do you get all that during your time with the bootcamp; you also get access to career services for life. Not for the three months after you graduate, not until you land the job, for life. And as mentioned, if you don’t land the job within 10 months of finishing your program, we back up our education and career services with a money-back guarantee.
