It’s finally come to a head: you need to get out of your job as soon as possible. Not only that, but you want the change to stick. So a bootcamp has crossed your radar — now you want to know how soon ASAP really can be if you go that route.

And here’s everyone’s favorite answer: it depends. The precise duration of a bootcamp is not as simple an answer as it might seem at first. So let’s get into it. Here’s all you need to know about how long bootcamps take to get you from where you are to a new career.

The hard data

To start off, we’ll give you the basic lowdown. Here’s how long our bootcamps run — from first day to final project without extensions or breaksYes, Our Bootcamp Is Flexible. Here’s Why That Matters for Students..

Program Duration
Software Engineering (part-time) 9 months
Data Science 8 months
Cyber Security 7 months
UX/UI Design 5 months
Quality Assurance 5 months
Business Intelligence Analytics 4 months
Software Engineering (full-time) 4 months

For some explanation: most of our programs are designed to be approached on a part-time basis, meaning that students should expect to dedicate 20 hours per week to their studies (which is less than the average American spends watching TV each weekIf You Have Enough Time For This, You Have Enough Time for a Bootcamp). However, we also offer a full-time Software Engineering program, which asks students to spend 40 hours per week gaining and mastering new tech know-how. So, how long the education takes doesn’t only depend on the program, but also on the time you spend studying.

We also mentioned extensions and breaks above. We designed our part-time programs to cater to people with real responsibilities — full time jobs, childcare, etc. And we know that for real people, well, things happen. If you need to temporarily step away from your studies, you can take a break, and if you need to spend extra time on a topic, you can request an extension. These both will extend the timeframes listed above.

Important to know: While these options are absolutely available for students, to remain eligible for our money-back guaranteeWhat You Need to Know about the TripleTen Money-Back Guarantee, learners need to complete their studies in a timely manner, meaning within a period 1.5 times as long as the duration listed.

More than learning — landing the job

But all of that above section is only focused on one thing: how long the programs themselves last. And you’re not enrolling in a bootcamp to just master Python or Power BI — you’re looking for an outcome, namely a job.

So what data do we have there? Well, one crucial timeframe to be aware of is the one in our money-back guarantee. It states that, if you follow the stipulations (again, to find out more, check out the linked article above) and don’t get a job within 10 months of submitting your final project, you can absolutely request a refund. And we mean it — Michelle LeFrom Veterinary Nurse to Business Analyst: Michelle Le’s TripleTen Story took advantage of this opportunity, and she still got a job with her new tech expertise.

There’s another bit of data we have, too. According to our most recent Outcomes Report, 82% of people who graduated from TripleTen between July 2023 and June 2024 landed jobs in tech within six months of finishing their education.

So let’s take the longer of those two estimates — 10 months. That means that we estimate that our students will master the material and land the tech job they were looking for within, at longest, 19 months, and at shortest, 14 months. But you, just like the grads in our report linked above, can absolutely outperform that estimate.

Not just waiting around

We could have made this section a little by the way box like we did with the reminder about timely graduation in the first section above. But this is a crucial point — the work of making the pivot does not end with graduation. After you submit your final project, you’re going to be applying to jobs, and that’s going to take effort and dedication.

We’re nothing if not realistic. It’s tough out there. But tough and impossible are different things. With hard-nosed commitment to the pivot, you can absolutely land a tech job, but that’s going to take customized resumes, networking, and the ability to stay thick-skinned to non-responses or rejections.

But here’s the thing: with us, you’re not going to be facing that alone. Throughout your time sending in applications, you’re going to be backed up by our employment-focused professionalsCareer Coaching at TripleTen: What It Is and How It Helps You Land a Job. They’ll help you prep by hosting vacancy-based mock interviewsHow Mock Interviews Help You Land the Job. They’ll be in your corner giving you the support you need — encouragement when you’re down or professional guidance on how to refine your job-search assets in light of feedback from the decision-makers you talk to.

And that’s only part of it. What this assistance will look like will vary based on you. After all, the best way to get someone employed is to look at their unique path for what it is — unique — and offer focused, personalized guidance, whatever that may look like. In fact, that’s our (open) secret to getting our grads hired.
