This is an entry in our series of FAQ articles in which we answer questions from the community. We’ve changed the names for the sake of privacy, but the things they asked haven’t been touched. Rosie’s story:
I’ve been thinking of changing careers and signing up for a bootcamp. But, truth be told, I’m a bit old-school… I’ve never done online courses before and I doubt I’ll become a good developer with chances to get a job if I study online. Are you sure you can teach me well enough without in-person classes?

TripleTen Team:

Hi, Rosie! These days everything, or almost everything, can be done online, including learning a new profession. But it’s only natural to have certain reservations about distance education, especially when it has to do with life-changing decisions.

Many people still think that brick-and-mortar schools are better than online academies. But this is probably no longer the case, and definitely not for modern careers, like those in tech. We collected some points to prove this.

Bootcamp grads show stunning employment rate

87% of our students get a job in tech within six months of their graduation. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that 53% of those get hired before completing the course. It is an enviable employment rate for any type of school, online or otherwise. You can check outcomes report for more info on that.

TripleTen grads work at dozens of companies, from up-and-coming startups to major corporations such as Apple, IBM and Tesla. We also have employer partners and we encourage our students to do externships to boost their portfolio with real projects.

Employers highlight students’ skills

Following those externships, we ask for feedback from the companies that approach us with their projects. And what we hear from them makes us really proud of our students.

During an externship at Allcorrect GamesExternship with TripleTen: Allcorrect Games, a group of TripleTen’s data science and data analytics students helped the Dublin-based game content studio research the localization outcomes and potential. And Demid Tishin, the company’s founding partner, was awed by their input.

“One student trained a model that demonstrated 98% precision at detecting new language requests — an outstanding result that was way beyond our initial expectations,” Demid says. “Two students delivered compiled Python scripts with the relevant user interface that we can use off-the-shelf!”

Students are happy, too

“That experience was invaluable. It was a taste into what real-life data analytics is.. I think it did a really good job in prepping me for the job search and then eventually the interview process,” - AC SlametA Producer Switches to Tech to Find Time for Life: AC Slamet’s TripleTen Story, TripleTen’s grad, said.

“TripleTen did a good job teaching us. I thought we all came out well-prepared for our first job in the market” - Colin MaretskyFrom Teacher to Student to Front-End Engineer: Colin Maretksy’s TripleTen Story, TripleTen’s Software Engineering bootcamp student.

These are just some examples of our students’ reviews. You can find more at Career Karma, SwitchUp, and Course Report, where we are regularly listed among the best coding bootcamps.

The results our students show are the best proof that TripleTen’s online bootcamps are a great way to learn coding and launch a new career in tech. So, don’t hesitate to explore the details of our bootcamps. And we’ll be looking forward to meeting you – online.
